La psoriasis es un trastorno inflamatorio de la piel y ocasionalmente de las articulaciones. Es crónico, recurrente y afecta a entre el 2 y el 3% de la población europea y al 1,4% de la población española según las últimas investigaciones. La psoriasis produce lesiones escamosas engrosadas e inflamadas, con una amplia variabilidad clínica y evolutiva. Produce muchos picores y es bastante común que los pacientes se hagan heridas al tratar de calmar el picor.

No es contagiosa, aunque sí puede ser hereditaria (un tercio de los afectados tiene familiares directos con psoriasis), es más probable que la hereden los hombres que las mujeres.

La psoriasis puede aparecer a cualquier edad, pero suele hacerlo por primera vez entre los 15 y los 35 años. Es una enfermedad que a día de hoy no tiene cura con la medicina occidental, pero existen tratamientos que ayudan a controlar los síntomas y hacer más fácil la vida de los pacientes.

Se aplica acupuntura local rodeando las placas de Psoriasis para atraer la Xue (sangre) a la zona y nutrirla.
Se aplica martillo de siete puntas o de Flor de Ciruelo sobre la placa y se produce un pequeño sangrado para regenerar y formar capilares nuevos en la zona y extraer el Calor existente.

Se aplica acupuntura distal para, según el síndrome existente, tonificar el Bazo para eliminar la humedad, el Riñón, el Hígado y el Pulmón.
Si está muy cronificada se utiliza fitoterapia para acelerar el proceso y tratar las deficiencias existentes. Naturalmente el tratamiento de Fitoterapia depende del Síndrome que este provocando la psoriasis y es diferente para cada paciente.
